Colorful, the brand that markets motherboards, graphics cards, SSDs, RAM strips, and other computer components, is trying its luck in the gaming laptop market with a first reference: the Colorful X15-AT.
RTX 3060 and 11th Gen Intel under the hood
The laptop is equipped with a new generation NVIDIA graphics card, and more precisely, with the GeForce RTX 3060. It also includes an Intel Core i7-11800H (8-core, 16-thread) processor clocked at 4.6 GHz, with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM at 3,200 MHz (possibility of adding RAM up to 64 GB) and a 512 GB NVMe SSD that can reach a transfer rate of 2,400 Mbps for storage. The 15.6-inch screen with Full HD definition 1,080p supports a refresh rate of 144 Hz to play in good conditions of fluidity. The maximum brightness is content with the minimum (300 nits), but we are entitled to 100% coverage of the sRGB color space.
The package on cooling
The slab occupies 86% of the façade, and the aluminum chassis allows it to offer a thickness and weight of only 23.9 mm and 1.93 kg—a transportable device, therefore, which is not always the case with gaming laptops. The RGB keyboard has 15 color customization options. The keys are 1.8 mm apart and have a tactile feedback function. Storm Blade 3.0 technology is at work for cooling the machine, which has four fans and five heat pipes. A Freezing Mode is available, allowing the fan to be turbocharged and to improve heat dissipation On the connectivity side, we have a Thunderbolt 4 port supporting up to 40 Gbps speed. The Colorful X15-AT is priced at ksh 129,379 and is available starting this July 2021 in several Asian countries. Marketing in Africa has not yet been mentioned.
