The company decided to switch things up this year, meet the Core  X series and with it comes the Core i9. The series – which is based on the Basin Falls platform- will have total of nine iterations being launched this year.  Hyper Threading (HT) technology has been in thus CPUs to double the thread count. Let’s start with the core i5.  The specs of the Core i5-7640X include

has 4 cores with no Hyper-Threading.  4.0GHz base and Turbo Boosts up to 4.2GHz.  costs $242. There is also the Core i7-7740X has 4 cores and 8 threads with HT.   4.3GHz base and Turbo Boosts up to 4.5GHz.  priced at $339. On to the Skylake-X series, we have the Core i7-7740X  has 6 cores and 12 threads with HT.  3.5GHz base and Turbo Boosts up to 4.0GHz. priced at $389 We also have the Core i7-7820X  8 cores and 16 threads with HT.  3.6GHz speed and Turbo Boosts up to 4.3GHz support Intel Turbo Boost 3.0, boosts to 4.5GHz.   priced at $599.  Saving the best for last, we have the Core i9-7900X

The remaining 4 CPUs are all Core i9s but they are yet to be fully unveiled. Intel only gave out their model numbers and prices details.   i9-7920X, i9-7940X, i9-7960X, and i9-7980XE Their prices are $1199, $1399, $1699, and $1999 respectively. 

 Forget the Core  i7  Intel just unveiled Core  i9 - 68
