Canadian immigrants who use Pesapeer will be able to make free, borderless transfers to these countries in addition to existing corridors like Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, European Union and the United Kingdom. “Expanding our corridors will provide even greater access to the immigrant community in Canada and will provide an even greater level of security and confidence for our customers. Canada welcomes an average of 400,000 permanent residents per year . Most of these immigrants would periodically remit money to their loved ones frequently aside from remittance; they would also require a bank account for their daily spending needs. The ultimate goal for Pesapeer is to provide digital financial services to immigrants from a single pane of glass; where they can spend, save, invest and remit money to their loved ones. In less than one year, Pesapeer has attracted more than 5000 immigrant customers in Canada and processed over $15m dollars in transactions. When Pesapeer launched in 2021, they started with enabling remittance services from Canada to Africa but soon expanded to accommodate payouts to the United Kingdom and the 27 countries under the European Union. With this expansion into India and Philippines, Pesapeer now enables payouts to over 40 countries in the world.
