On a Chromebook, here’s how to compress and unzip files.

From the app menu, launch the files app.Navigate to the location of the files you wish to compress.Click on a file to include in the zip file, then hold down the “Ctrl” key and choose the remaining files to zip.After that, hit the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the Files app.Finally, click Zip selection to combine all of the selected files into a single zip file.

Chrome OS does not include Windows or macOS-style shortcuts for extracting all files from a zip folder. Instead, you must manually unzip it. Here’s how to go about it.

Open the files app and head over to the location of the zipped file.To open the compressed file, double-click it.Select all of the files, then right-click and choose “Copy.”Navigate to the spot where you wish to extract the contents of the copied zipped file.Right-click once more and select “Paste.”
