This year, Samsung’s Galaxy S10 and S10+ share three cameras on the back and two on the front. Huawei tops it with four, one of which is a 3D camera designed to improve portrait photos.

The Galaxy S10+ (and the Galaxy S10 family in general) have received a ton of attention in recent months, and with good reason. However, the arrival of the Huawei P30 Pro did steal some of the limelight. The two android smartphones share many of the same features: water resistance with IP68 certification, wireless charging, reversible charging, Android Pie, an octa-core processor, five cameras in total, a curved OLED screen and a metal frame. However, despite those similarities, each phone is in great ways different to the other. In some ways, the Huawei P30 Pro might actually be better, while in some the Samsung Galaxy S10+ could be the better phone.

Conclusion

Samsung and Huawei both offer premium, well-built and striking designs with flagship specifications, especially in the case of the P30 Pro and Galaxy S10+. The P30 Pro is the one to buy out of the two Huawei devices launched under the P30 series, if your budget allows. It has a curved display, faster charging, a larger battery, bigger display, more camera functionality and even offers reverse wireless charging, compared to it’s junior the Huawei P30. The S10+ is the one to opt for out of the S10 series devices, for those after the latest and greatest specs at least. It has a larger display than the S10 and the S10e, a bigger battery, more camera functionality on the front and more RAM and storage options. Although which smartphone of the two to opt for will come down to personal preference. The devices are similar in terms of specs on paper, though the Huawei P30 Pro is that little bit cheaper compared to the Samsung Galaxy S10+– read our full reviews for all the details.
