The DUAL Sim runs XUI, a customised version of Android 5.1, has a 5.5 inch display screen and is powered by a quad core processor. It’s main camera is 8MP while the front camera is 2MP. The unit we have is Space Gray in colour. Inside the box Inside the box we have the handset itself, a 3000Amh battery, earphones, a charger, a USB data cable and a user manual. The packaging is not as different from the Hot 2, same hardened paper boxes for the outer box and the internal accessory packs. Infinix makes the packaging excellent even when using affordable materials not to pass the cost to the buyer. All the accessories are white in colour. Design and Display The Hot 3 is a lighter and thiner phone compared to most of its counterparts. On the back cover it has the main camera and flash light at the top, towards the left side and the Infinix logo just below it. The bottom back cover has the speaker on the bottom left and the Hot logo in the middle. The phone’s right edge has power and volume rockers, the top edge has ear phone jack and charging port while the left edge is spotlessly grey. The bottom edge only has a sensor. On the display, the top section has an earpiece, a 2MP front camera and an LED flashlight while the bottom has the home menu, the recent menu and the back menu. The covers are all plastic and when you remove the back cover, there a section for the removable battery, two SIM cards and a memory card slot for user data storage. Battery The HOT 3 comes with a removable battery. It actually has huge battery with a 300mAh battery capacity with 3.85 volts meaning it can run the phone for more than 6 hours on data use. 3000mAh is one of the best in the industry and users should not fear to take photos, use data and make calls as it can last them longer than the competition. It’s ultra save feature also adds more than two hours when on low battery. Perfomance We just had the phone for a few hours and would not want to speculate on perfomance now. We shall have a full review in a few days time. At the moment, we’ll just look at the phone’s specs in general. With a MediaTek MT6580 quad-core processor running on 1GB RAM and selling for just Ksh 7,899, the HOT 3 is an affordable smartphone targeting first-time or second-time smartphone users who want an affordable smartphone with a fairly good perfomance power. The RAM and processor can power a number of apps minus breaking down and its 16GB internal storage which can be upgraded to 32GB promises ample storage for games and other media. Being light and able to fit into once’s palm, HOT 3 is good for photography and media consumption. Let’s get more out of the phone and will get you more details for you.
