An alumni of the accelerator program from Spark International, Carol Odera is getting solar panels onto Kenyan roof at a price cheaper than kerosene, and already 1000 Kenyans are living in her smokeless homes. “In 2013  Caroline was selected as a Spark Changemaker. She participated in a one week live in intensive entrepreneurship training which we call ‘The Accelerator’. We then provided her support with access to web designers, graphic designs, accountants, lawyers, business coaches and mentors. She could also access small rounds of $250 to overcome barriers or test ideas,” said Patrick O’Callaghan ,Kenya Country Manager  of Spark International. The organization is now looking for early stage entrepreneurs for another round of the program and applications can be made on Spark* Kenya or through direct emails to [email protected]. Spark* is continuing to work with Caroline to scale this venture across Western Kenya and due to the impact she is getting recently provided her with a $10,000 grant to enable this growth.
