After a fresh coat of paint, it’s now the time of Office to get a makeover before a major redesign in a year or two. Microsoft 365 and Office 2021 customers now have a unified interface with all of the company’s other programs, thanks to some minor tweaks made by the Redmond corporation. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote all have windows with rounded corners and polished buttons, just like Windows 11. The fast access toolbar is now hidden by default to simplify the interface, although it may be seen by right-clicking on the Office ribbon. The big news is that the office suite directly responds to system choices for dark and light themes, allowing you to have black, white, dark gray, or colored backgrounds, among other things. For Windows 11 users, the Office update should already be available. According to Microsoft, this makeover should be triggered automatically on half of the PCs running the most recent operating system. In contrast, the other half will need to activate it by clicking on the megaphone symbol in the top right.
