This year, Samsung is reportedly no longer launching a classic high-end smartphone. The Galaxy Note series is on hiatus, and otherwise, only the belated Galaxy S21 FE and foldable devices seem to be on the agenda. LetsGoDigital and the graphic designer Technizo Concept have therefore already taken a look at the Galaxy S22 Ultra. You can see a clip above this article. There are also some exciting product render images. These are based on current rumours about the S22 series.
Design: Huge again, but also again without a camera under display?
The Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to display a diagonal of 6.81 inches, making it minimally (0.1 inches) more prominent than the current model and by far the largest model in the entire series. In addition, it will probably be the only model with an LTPO screen and adaptive screen rate, which leads to improved battery life. The display should also be more rounded than with the smaller siblings. It is currently unclear whether Samsung places the front camera under the screen to avoid a punch hole. Nowadays, the tendency seems to be more in the direction that we have to wait even longer for this exciting design feature than we thought in the meantime. According to the tech portal Naver, this is not expected until the second half of 2022. Then probably with the Galaxy Note 22 and the foldable representation. It will also be exciting on the back. The rumour mill expects new colours. In the Concept, the designer defines black, silver, blue, green and red. The latter option, in particular, looks particularly noble.
Camera: Is Samsung setting a new standard?
Samsung is reportedly exclusively relying on the back of glass on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. With the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+, plastic will probably be the material of choice. The camera module catches the eye. Samsung once again seems to trust in the look of the S21 Ultra. Accordingly, the socket would visually flow again into the device frame. Now would be the substantial primary camera, which is to be part of a cooperation with Olympus. The large sensor supposedly resolves with 200 MP. Another highlight will also be the camera technology Sensor-Shift, which you already know from the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Here, the photosensor in the camera is movable to compensate for wobble-free images during recording and to enable wobble-free images. Overall, however, there is relatively little information about the camera to date. Therefore, the graphic designer assumes an ultra-wide angle, two telephoto lenses and laser autofocus for the product rendering. The quartet is arranged squarely, with a flash in the middle.
Galaxy S22 Ultra: Built for gamers?
At the same time, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to be Samsung’s first real gaming smartphone. In the conversation is an active cooling. A similar feature already exists in phones explicitly designed for gamers, including the Nubia RedMagic 6. However, such a feature should also be necessary for non-gamers: Some users of an S21 Ultra are said to complain about overheating problems. An impressive graphics should enable a partnership with AMD. The US company is probably involved in the development of the Chipset Exynos 2200. Among other things, the graphics processor should enable raytracing. So far, you know the feature more from gaming PCs and the PlayStation 5. With the technology, games look much more realistic through optimized shadows and reflections. In addition, Variable Rate Shading (VRS) should protect the GPU. The chip itself should have 16 GB of ram and up to 1 TB of internal memory.
The battery of the Galaxy S22 Ultra
To the battery of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, there are so far no good rumours. The current model has an energy storage of 5000 mAh. Presumably, the manufacturer remains faithful to that house number. There is a need for optimization in the charging options. Currently, you charge the top model of the Galaxy S series with 25 watts wired and 15 watts wirelessly. Presumably, Samsung will increase at least the classic charging to 65 watts. However, the necessary charger should only be available as an additional accessory.
Software and accessories
From the factory, Samsung installs securely on Android 12 with the in-house user interface One UI 4.0. The mobile phone should also be compatible with the S Pen; however, it should remain an optional accessory. Currently, it is not known to what extent Samsung is expanding the stylus functions for the premium phone.
Price and release of the Galaxy S22 Ultra
Until the unpacked event of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra, you will probably have to wait until January 2022. Then we not only learn which rumours come true and how close the LetsGoDigital design is to the actual model. But also how expensive the Ultra model is. We expect that Samsung’s pricing policy will remain relatively stable, and the variant with the slightest memory will start again in the range of 1250 euros approximating 160,920 Kenyan shillings. How do you find the design shown off the Galaxy S22 Ultra? Do the thumbs go up or down?
