Following the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, global food and groceries demand spiked. As a result of this growth, customers in Nigeria have demanded a seamless meal delivery service, and Jise has taken advantage of the chance to offer a food delivery platform that provides quick and cost-effective delivery services throughout Nigeria, starting with Lagos. The food-only delivery platform, led by Marvelous Gbenro as CEO, Tokurah Majid as VP Growth & Operations, Ibukun Olasupo as VP Customer Engagement, and Jeremy Osazuwa Agbonze as VP Technology, has similar services to Deliveroo in Europe or Doordash in the United States, with the goal of delivering meals within 25 minutes. Jise was founded in response to the shortcomings and constraints presented by multi-focused delivery partners, which resulted in delayed food deliveries. Most Nigerian restaurants’ brand integrity is still being jeopardized by their failure to keep up with timely deliveries. As a result, Jise has developed a solution in the form of a shared logistics platform that enables restaurants to seamlessly make meal deliveries in the quickest possible time by leveraging clusters of independent delivery personnel while also allowing for restaurant growth through a connected marketplace (integrated solution) The food-only delivery platform aims to be a game-changer in the Nigerian food delivery industry by providing an effective platform that allows for food delivery and ordering as well as takeout and delivery from Nigeria’s best restaurants at reduced prices to its consumers. Jise has secured $100,000 in angel investment from a number of notable investors, including Backroom Capital (Nigeria), Winston Capital (Ireland), and a few angel investors, including Jonny Enagwolor, Co-Founder Treepz Inc. The food-only delivery platform went operational in Lagos’ Lekki Phase 1 axis by signing over 40 restaurant menus on its platform. Jise hopes to provide meals to customers in this axis within 25 minutes, then gradually expand their community-based model across Lagos, beginning with bicycle runners, in time for the holiday season.
