A new version of the internal software (3.124) has been released, allowing TVs to access the 4K 120 Hz VRR “in full resolution” for the first time. Indeed, the latter was previously planned with a vertical definition of “just” 1080 pixels, rather than the 2160 pixels now available. “Panasonic TVs now offer a great gaming experience in HDMI 2.1,” according to the manufacturer, “while maintaining true to the image quality and optimal color calibration that makes them strong.” It’s worth noting that the update also applies to the LCD-equipped JX970 and JX940 devices. Obviously, like with any update, some owners of the affected models may have already received this latest firmware version, while others have not. Patience is required, so if this is the case, the update is on its way.
