According to the company, it was made aware of seven reports in which fasteners connecting the front upper control arm and steering knuckle were not tightened to the proper torque values. So far, no injuries have been reported as a result of these findings, but the automaker decided to be cautious and issued a full recall. Drivers were warned to keep an eye out for increased noises from the front suspensions and deteriorating steering response over time. Rivian has previously handled recalls such as an airbag sensor issue that affected approximately 500 vehicles and only minor issues that were resolved with an OTA update. Prior recalls have failed in comparison to today’s full recall. All Rivian customers are encouraged to call the service hotline and either schedule a mobile technician visit or bring the vehicle to the Rivian service center.
