The automobile division of Geely, also known as Zhejiang Geely Holding Group is Geely Auto. It is one of the top 10 largest automakers in China and the parent company of several automakers, including Lotus and Volvo Cars. It also shares ownership of Volvo’s all-electric Polestar brand. With its own R&D lab in Hangzhou and a fully functional EV production facility in Zibo, Shandong, Radar debuts as an independent brand. The new brand will have access to all vehicle technologies and shared components for EVs, including Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). Radar Auto is already developing a social lifestyle sub-brand to link EV owners with one another, with other brands, and the great outdoors, similar to the outdoor-focused Rivian. Radar’s flagship pickup, the RD6, comes in single and dual motor options, it will have a frunk, plugs in the rear bed, and will offer considerable cargo space thanks to the SEA platform. Geely promised potential buyers that the RD6 electric pickup will begin production and deliveries in China in the fourth quarter of 2022
